Kommunio Foundation (HU)

Kommunio Foundation was established for the purpose of community organisation. Everyone is born into a community; the presence of a supportive family that provides a safe environment is important. In a favourable situation, this will be the primary community from which the child enters the wider community: first into children’s communities, into nursery school, kindergarten, then into school.
He or she enters a community in which there are already children from different families, with different values, with different ways of looking at life; and this is where the child first learns to be in solidarity with others.
Compassion begins when the individual realises that he or she is also part of the community. When they experience that they thrive much better together than individually; when they feel that in a community they can enrich each other’s lives and bring support and joy to each other’s lives. The purpose of the Foundation is to support community development and scientific, research and educational activities related to public administration.
In order to achieve the above objectives, the Foundation carries out the following activities:
● preparation of research and analysis,
● preparation of professional materials,
● preparation of a scientific journal,
● training in the administrative sector,
● organization of conferences,
● tender advice,
● fundraising,
● promoting the professional development of young researchers.
Kommunio Foundation cooperates with NGOs with similar objectives. The Foundation runs the Parents’ House Family Centre in Győr, Hungary. As a partner of the Parents’ House Foundation, they joined the „Do Something Good!” programme, in which they have been actively involved for many years. In order to expand the programme, they set up the first rural „Helping Circle” in Győr to provide more support for children and young people in care.
