The Our Voice Final Conference was packed with exciting presentations, insightful reports, a fantastic roundtable discussion, and the debut of our booklet.
On July 9, 2024, we wrapped up the project with a final event in Budapest. Representatives from our partner organizations shared a detailed look at the past year and a half of Our Voice and gave us a glimpse into what’s next. The event was opened by Brimo Widad, Senior Youth Delegate of Hungary to the United Nations.
From Hungary, Judit Regős, president of the Parents’ House Public Benefit Foundation, talked about how the project came to life, its core principles, and the overall experiences during its implementation.
Representing the Kommunió Foundation, Ditte Erdősi gave the audience a detailed rundown of how the project was executed in Hungary, focusing on the local activities.
Stefanie Deleu from the Belgian organization De Stuyverij vvzw delivered an inspiring presentation on the adventure week in Belgium and shared the outcomes of the local implementation.
Zsuzsanna Márton from Asociatia Pro Agriensis walked us through the Romanian context, detailing their adventure week and the local challenges and opportunities they encountered.
We also screened short films related to Our Voice after each presentation, which really brought the program’s vibe to life.
The second half of the event featured an amazing roundtable discussion with the Hungarian Our Voice team members. The young participants shared their experiences, challenges, and memories from the trips and local activities. We were especially excited to have several international participants join us with video messages, enriching the discussion with their stories.
We also unveiled the Our Voice booklet at the conference, which gives everyone a chance to dive into the program’s details and find inspiration for their own projects. You’ll be able to browse it soon, as we’ll be making it available online.
On the second day of the event, we went on a study visit to the Bokréta Residential Home Center. During the visit, Enikő Csapó, Deputy Professional Director of the institution, gave us a comprehensive overview of the institution and the Hungarian child protection system. István Varga, leader of the Hangyaboly group, also gave a presentation on how their group operates, followed by a chance to meet the children living there.
