It’s unbelievable, but we’ve already wrapped up our second Adventure Week in Romania. We spent an educational and fun-filled week together, full of learning and unforgettable experiences.

During the second week, under the guidance of trainers István Lepedus and Szabolcs Frigy, the young participants deepened their community connections, got to know each other better, and explored their strengths and how to work effectively in a team.

By the end of the exciting and productive training week, each participant found a cause they are passionate about advocating for. The youth tried numerous games and became familiar with various training tools they can use in the future. We’re very proud of them!

Besides the training, we also had the chance to go on a study trip. We visited the Emmaus Association, which offers job opportunities and housing for young people leaving care until they find their place in the world. The participants also engaged in creative activities, thanks to potter Géza Istvánfi, where they tried their hand at pottery and experienced the process of creating art from clay.

We didn’t forget about physical activities either; we balanced all the thinking and hard work with an exciting sports afternoon.

We also had time for some excursions: we visited Lake Kányaháza and went all the way to Felsővisó to admire the breathtaking landscape from a magical train ride. On the eve of All Saints’ Day, we visited the so-called „merry” cemetery in Maramureș. This unique place features ornate pictures on headstones that tell the life and death stories of the deceased, often with sarcastic humor. It was an interesting experience and provided an opportunity to discuss life and death in a more relaxed atmosphere.

We ended the week with a fantastic party, celebrating some birthdays too. We said emotional goodbyes and headed home. In a few weeks, we’ll meet again in Belgium, hosted by De Stuyverij.

Stay tuned!
