We have returned from the final Adventure Week. What an incredible time we had!
In the third week, it was time for the youth to receive concrete tools to help them implement their local activities. On Monday, during a long training day, participants learned about the differences between mentoring and coaching techniques, explored various types of questions, and engaged in diverse communication exercises.
For the rest of the week, the young people participated in a simulation game developed by De Stuyverij, where they collectively ran a company. The company was divided into the following subgroups:
- Hospitality: This group organized meals (writing shopping lists, procurement, cooking, or planning and coordinating on-site meals).
- Tourism and Leisure: This group was responsible for organizing excursions, including planning travel to locations, managing finances, and monitoring entrance tickets.
- Entertainment: This group organized evening programs, including assessing needs, procuring materials, and executing the events.
- Communication and Media: This group documented daily events and reported on the company’s work and programs in various ways.
Each subgroup had a facilitator to support the youth in carrying out the tasks prepared by De Stuyverij. The goal of the game was for the company divisions to collaboratively organize a full day of the adventure week and certain program elements.
Tuesday was spent planning, with the divisions working independently and cooperatively to organize Wednesday’s excursion day. On Wednesday, the team executed their plan, filling the day with activities from morning until late evening. They organized a trip to the sea and even managed to fit in some ice skating. The communication team created social media pages, which they continue to manage, started a blog about the week, and produced a printed newspaper called „Hot News,” which each participant received.
On Thursday, each division presented their work in a presentation to investors (De Stuyverij staff), aiming to secure support for the company. The objective was to convince the investors to provide enough funding to allow us to travel to the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands on Friday.
It was fantastic to see the youth working diligently and passionately on their tasks. Each division prepared impressive presentations, successfully achieving the goal of securing a memorable day at the theme park on Friday.

Congratulations to everyone involved! Now it’s time to rest a bit so we can soon start organizing local programs with renewed energy.
